21 Bridges (2009)
Bridges (2009) is a documentary film directed by Errol Morris. The film chronicles the construction of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, which was completed in 1936. Sorry to Bother You (2018)
With a title like Sorry to Bother You, you might think this is a movie about telemarketers. And while that’s part of it, the film is so much more than that. It’s a biting satire about race, class, and capitalism, set in an alternate reality where African Americans have superhuman strength.
The film follows Cassius Green (played by Lakeith Stanfield), a young man working as a telemarketer who discovers he can use his “white voice” (provided by David Cross) to advance in his career. But the more success he has, the more he realizes how corrupt and dehumanizing the system he’s a part of really is.
While Sorry to Bother You might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s definitely one of the most original and thought-provoking films to come out in recent years. If you’re looking for something different on Netflix this month, give it a try.
Speed Kills (2018)
The 2018 film Speed Kills, starring John Travolta, is leaving Netflix in March. The movie is based on the true story of speedboat racing champion and drug smuggler Ben Aronoff. The Conjuring grossed over $318 million worldwide against its $20 million budget, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2013. It received positive reviews from critics, with many praising the acting, direction, writing, atmosphere, visuals, and soundtrack. The film received nominations for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Sound Editing. A sequel titled The Conjuring 2 was released on June 10, 2016 to critical acclaim and grossed over $320 million worldwide against its $40 million budget; a third film was announced shortly after the second’s release. A fourth entry into the series is set for an October 2020 release date; it will be titledThe Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do Itand focus on a trial case involving demonic possession that took place in 1981.
The Gift (2015)
The Gift is a 2015 supernatural thriller film directed by Joel Edgerton, who also wrote the screenplay. The film stars Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall as a married couple who become involved in a psychological mind game with edgy neighbor played by Edgerton.
Tu Hai Mera Sunday (2016)
The 2016 Indian film “Tu Hai Mera Sunday” is leaving Netflix in March. The film follows the lives of five friends in Mumbai who meet every Sunday to play football. The film explores the friendships between the men, as well as the challenges they face in their personal lives.
Tucker: The Man and His Dream (1988)
